When unarmed, there's always the fist to express your feelings. If you can get close enough, punching may even knock a weapon out of an opponent's hands, making it ripe for the picking and your opponent more vulnerable.
If you have a gun and are standing close enough to an enemy, pressing the fire button does a buttstroke with the gun, which functions the same as the standard punch. Often it is done to opponents who are AFK (away from keyboard) and cannot run away while you punch them.
