The Next League

The Next League (commonly abbreviated to TNL), was originally created by Cold Fusion and Hektik Sniper in May 2004. The first match of the first season was played on the 9th June 2004.

For the start of the second season, Denacke, flab and grand_diablo were recruited, later followed by Taxi and Dowhook for TNL3. For TNL5 DSlayer and ramirez joined our team.

The three main differences between this league and any other at that time were the scheduling of matches and using a home/away system in order to keep the games fair. Each clan received two scheduled matches a week, and plays every other clan twice in the league, both home and away. Home in this case is to be alpha on the default map. The other difference is that it is a straight league format, where the clan with the most points comes out on top.

In TNL3, divisions were introduced to the format. This was due to the fact that in TNL2 27 clans had entered, which meant a very long season. So 4 divisions were constructed, TNL-A, B, C
